The Cafe at the Savoy

Built in 1907 the then "New Tivoli Restaurant" rose from the ashes of the Great Quake in 1906 as a Coffee House, Eatery and Boarding House. Mostly, it catered to Italian immigrants dutifully rebuilding San Francisco.

Founder Nick with delicious Italian treats! Nick ran the "New Tivoli" from 1907 until the mid 1950's, when he sold to self proclaimed "Bohemian Businessman," Fredy Kuh.

Having been a regular at the Savoy for years, Claire once sat at the at the bar and declared "I'm going to buy this place!" Years later she became the third person to ever run the Savoy Tivoli. For nearly 40 years Claire owned and managed the Savoy.
